Home Turn Over In Mt Airy

Cairn Custom Homes turned over keys to a wonderful family today. This home had been their dream for many many years and we were happy to be the builder of choice and facilitate their vision. This home sits on an acre, in a small enclave of 4 custom homes in the rolling farm land hills of Mt Airy. This private lot project took 18 months to complete and features 3375 sq ft of living space, an open 2-story family room, and a custom T-shaped Cambria Ella quartz kitchen island with seating for 6. Fulton Hill Intrastructure Underway

Ground has been broken on the infrastructure of our Fulton Hill community. Cairn Custom Homes has been working closely with the civil engineer team and developers on this exclusive new community. Individual homesites will start in late spring, upon obtaining building permits from the county. We can’t wait to see this custom home community come together. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind neighborhood, in the heart of Maple Lawn. Fulton Hill homeowners will be able to walk to the shops, restaurants, and other Maple Lawn amenities, and their children can walk to the nearby schools of Fulton Elementary, Lime Kiln Middle, Cedar Lane School, and Reservoir High. Out of the eight total homesites, only one lot remains.

CCH WINS MAX AWARDS

Cairn Custom Homes took home 3 MAX awards from the Maryland Builers Association. The awards honor excellence in building across our region, and it was a great honor to recieve these! The categories won were in custom built homes in the $1.5-$2.5 million dollar range.

2 New Homes Turned Over in Walnut Creek

Cairn Custom Homes proudly turned over 2 new homes earlier this year in Walnut Creek. These two homes were carefully planned and designed along side our clients. Two very different styles, interiors and exteriors. Spring is around the corner and so will be the completion of the exterior landscaping and installation of front fountain/water features and outdoor entertaining areas including pool. Stay tuned for spring/summer updates of these beautiful homes!

Don’t we all LOVE a good demo project, with before and after photos ?! This home previously was a 1980’s built rancher, and while the home had been remodeled and upgraded throughout the years, it lacked what the owners wanted in terms of space, layout and upgraded and modern features. The home was demolished, with the aid of Second Chance, preserving only portions of the basement foundation, and the homes great room with panoramic windows facing the 4 acres of wooded property. A new design was created with help from one of our local architects, Jonathan Rivera, and the home was rebuilt in less than 10 months time. Winner at MBIA Chef's Night 2019

Cairn Custom Homes won “ Best Non Traditional Chili” at this year’s Chef’s Night. The event took place on October 17th at Martins East in Greenbelt. Heidi Slapp, Cairn’s accountant extraordinaire, made her family’s favorite - Chicken Taco Soup. It was a huge hit! Cairn Custom Homes continues to be an active member of MBIA and supports it’s events year round.

New Home Turn Over- Woodbine MD

Cairn Custom Homes proudly turned over another custom home in Woodbine MD. Our clients dreamed of a home that would sit amongst rolling hills, and have space for their family and horses. Their home features a first floor master suite and open floor plan with soaring 2 story foyer and 16 ft windows that frame the bucolic setting with a perfect view of their detached barn. A fully finished basement with home cinema, wet bar and gym. Our clients will be enjoying their first holidays this fall and winter, and can’t wait to fill the home with food and family. Cairn Custom Homes Travels to Vegas for NAHB International Builders Show

Our principal builders Steve and Lisa Appler, along with CCH purchasing manager Ron Appler traveled to the NAHB International Builders Show. Wow, what a show! Even the bizarre weather – it snowed in Vegas on Wednesday night—didn’t dampen the 75th annual International Builders’ Show, the biggest show in a decade and an indication of just how vibrant the home building industry currently is!

With more than 100,000 people attending Design & Construction Week® the exhibit halls were jammed and the energy was palpable. The IBS exhibit floor alone, spanned more than 600,000 net square feet and featured more than 1,500 exhibitors. Attendees saw the latest in home technology products, watched live building demos, participated in hammer contests and craft brew tastings and networked with the best of best in our industry and collecting IBS swag along the way.

MBIA Chef's Night, October 25th 2018

Cairn Custom Homes attended the Maryland Building Industry Association’s Chef’s Night on October 25th at Martin’s West in Baltimore. This years theme was “ Let’s Go To The Movies” and our team chose the film ‘Chocolat’. We had a great night talking with fellow MBIA members and enjoyed tasting through all of the other “chef’s” creations!

Summer 2018; 2 New Home Turn Overs!

Cairn Custom Homes turned over 2 new homes over the summer. Both homes are located in the Fulton area. One in the established neighborhood of Beaufort Estates, and one in our newer development of Lime Kiln Reserve. These two homes were very different styles but both mixed classic and modern elements to create unique floorplans and interior details. Our clients are moved in and looking forward to the first fall season in their new homes.

2017 MAX Award Winner

Cairn Custom Homes took home 2 MAX Awards in the Small Volume Custom Builder, Customized Home category on May 31st, 2018 at Martins West in Baltimore. The MAX Awards, short for Maryland Awards of Excellence,  highlight and recognize home builders all across the state. We were honored to receive these awards, and grateful to our small team who makes it all possible. We look forward to submitting our upcoming projects for next years awards!

New Home Turn Over at Lime Kiln Reserve

We turned over another custom home to a lovely family in Lime Kiln Reserve! This project was unique in every sense, from the elevation and exterior architecture to the interior details and artistic touches. The Cairn Custom Homes team was able to help bring our clients vision of a modern farmhouse into reality and we absolutely love the final product. The whole team went out to congratulate the new home owners. After their 13 month journey with Cairn Custom Homes, we all ended up feeling like family. This is our first completed home at Lime Kiln Reserve with another not far behind.

The Cairn team was excited to share in this special day with the happy home owners! The ribbon cutting ceremony was a huge success, especially with the youngsters, as they participated in the days events. We are so proud of this most recent project and honored to have facilitated bringing this dream to life.

MBIA Chef Night Winners!

Once again, Cairn Custom Homes brings home a trophy from the annual MD Building Industry Association. This year's award winning recipe for "outstanding dessert" was our original spiced hot cider. Judges and attendees alike enjoyed this sweet treat while meeting and greeting other industry professionals and participating in a live auction. We were proud to bring home another "chef" and look forward to next year's event!
